Justin, Gregor, Nick, and Uluru hanging out in Australia's Outback
Name: Gregor Stronach
Gregor Stronach is the 8th Take Me With You! guest from Melbourne, Australia. He currently lives in Sydney and writes for Overland magazine, a large 4X4 enthusiast magazine in Australia. He brings to the team a special enthusiasm for writing, photography, guitar playing and making people laugh. He has been a great resource for the team offering his Australian humor, views on politics, and answering our questions ranging from "Where's the bathroom" to tougher questions on Australian history and geology. After three days of traveling with us, we hope to see Gregor again on a future leg of our expedition.
Would you be up for 9 months of travel like this?
I'd like to think so, but the reality is that I probably wouldn't cope with nine whole months of it.What is your most memorable moment during your portion of the journey?
Sharing the joy of traveling through parts of Australia that I'd never visited before with the group. What advice do you have for future travelers in the program?
Just relax and let the group dynamic do its work - go with the flow, and keep smiling. It's all good. What surprised you the most?
The passion and enthusiasm of the participants - I figured after so long on the road, they'd be jaded and a little cynical. What was the best thing you ate?
Pot luck dinner at the hotel on the final evening - everyone cooked their meal and chipped in with their food - it was great to have a little bit of everything as my first hot meal in two days…What was the most difficult part of the traveling experience?
? To be honest, none of it was particularly hard work - the team made my visit with them as easy for me as possible, and for that I'm really thankful that my task, as a visitor, was a simple one.
